Wild Target is a comedy about uptight Victor Maynard (Bill Nighy), a middle-aged, solitary assassin, who lives to please his formidable mother Louisa (Eileen Atkins), despite his own peerless reputation for lethal efficiency. His professional routine is interrupted when he finds himself drawn to one of his intended victims, Rose (Emily Blunt).

He spares her life, unexpectedly acquiring a young apprentice in the process, Tony (Rupert Grint). Believing Victor to be a private detective, his two new companions tag along, while he attempts to thwart the murderous attentions of his unhappy client (Rupert Everett).

Kisah asmara memang bisa berawal dari apa saja. Contohnya Mike Cranshaw (Steve Zahn) dan Sue Claussen (Jennifer Aniston) ini, kisah asmara mereka berawal dari sebotol anggur. Sebotol anggur inilah yang membuat Mike rela menempuh jarak bermil-mil demi cintanya untuk Sue.

Awalnya, Sue yang bekerja di bidang pemasaran bermalam di motel milik orang tua Mike di Arizona. Terpikat dengan kecantikan Sue, Mike lantas menawarkan sebotol anggur sebagai pemberian dari manajemen motel. Dari sinilah semuanya berawal. Mike merasa bahwa Sue adalah wanita yang selama ini ia tunggu-tunggu dan memutuskan untuk menyusul Sue yang telah pulang kembali ke Maryland.

Sayangnya, sesampainya di Maryland, Mike harus menelan pil pahit lantaran Sue yang selama ini menjalani hidup dengan perhitungan matang menganggap Mike tak punya masa depan. Sue lebih memilih Jango (Woody Harrelson), mantan pacarnya, yang telah sukses menjadi pengusaha yoghurt. Kini Mike harus membuktikan bahwa mereka berdua memang ditakdirkan untuk hidup bersama atau perjalanannya dari Arizona akan sia-sia belaka.

S I N O P S I S

Membaca surat yang ditujukan untuk orang lain dan bahkan membalasnya barangkali adalah sebuah tindakan yang tidak terpuji. Apalagi jika sampai surat balasan ini malah membuat si pengirim surat harus menempuh perjalanan jauh demi menghidupkan api asmara yang sempat lama padam. Tapi itulah justru yang terjadi pada Sophie Hall (Amanda Seyfried) yang sedang berlibur di Italia.

Sophie datang ke Italia bersama Victor, kekasihnya, (Gael García Bernal) dengan tujuan untuk berlibur. Setibanya di Italia, Victor ternyata malah sibuk dengan urusannya sendiri dan meninggalkan Sophie yang tak tahu harus melakukan apa. Mencoba menikmati liburan ini Sophie kemudian mengunjungi rumah yang konon adalah rumah Juliet Capulet (tokoh dalam kisah Romeo dan Juliet).

Di rumah ini Sophie menemukan petualangannya. Rumah ini ternyata menjadi tujuan para wanita yang ingin meminta saran pada Juliet seputar hubungan asmara dan ada beberapa wanita yang bertugas membaca surat-surat ini dan membalasnya. Sophie lantas menemukan sepucuk surat yang telah berumur lima puluh tahun yang ditulis oleh seorang wanita bernama Claire Smith-Wyman (Vanessa Redgrave).

Konon Claire sempat berwisata ke Italia dan bertemu seorang pria tampan yang memikat hatinya. Meski kejadian itu telah lewat berpuluh tahun namun wanita ini sepertinya belum bisa melupakan kenangan sekejap itu. Karena terharu pada kisah wanita ini, Sophie lantas menjawab surat ini dan membuat Claire memutuskan kembali ke Italia bersama Charlie (Chris Egan), cucunya.

Dalam waktu singkat, ketiga orang yang tak pernah saling mengenal ini mulai menjelajahi Italia untuk mencari pria bernama Lorenzo Bartolini (Franco Nero) yang memikat hati Claire lima puluh tahun silam. Di tengah perjalanan ini pula cinta mulai tumbuh di hati Sophie dan Charlie.

In 1692 in the Ipswich Colony in Massachusetts, five families with magical abilities, referred to as “the Power”, formed a covenant of silence to protect themselves from persecution. Four of the five bloodlines (Danvers, Parry, Garwin, and Simms) survive to this day; one family (the Putnams), lusting for more power, was banished, their bloodline disappearing without a trace until now.

The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spencer Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families that settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have all been given amazing supernatural powers. But their ability to shape-shift, defy gravity and perform superhuman feats of strength comes at a terrible cost: every time one of the Sons of Ipswich uses his magical powers, he ages prematurely, and the temptation to abuse the power makes it more addictive than any drug. What’s more, life is only going to get harder for the young friends; they are given a taste of the Power at age thirteen. Then at the moment each boy turns eighteen, he will “Ascend”, gaining far more potent —and addictive— powers.

As the new school year begins at Spencer Academy, students have gathered for a wild outdoor party to mark the end of summer. Hundreds of feet above the gyrating bodies, Caleb Danvers (Steven Strait) and his three best friends, Pogue Parry (Taylor Kitsch), Reid Garwin (Toby Hemingway) and Tyler Simms (Chace Crawford) walk to the edge of a dizzying precipice and drop unseen and unscathed before casually joining the fray. At the party, newcomer Sarah Wenham (Laura Ramsey), a former Boston public-school student, is introduced to the boys by her roommate Kate (Jessica Lucas), Pogue’s girlfriend. The girls also meet an intriguing transfer student named Chase Collins (Sebastian Stan), who quickly ingratiates himself into the group.

When the police arrive to disperse the partiers, Caleb and his friends evade the authorities by driving off a cliff and using their Powers to land safely. Returning home, Caleb comes across his mother Evelyn (Wendy Crewson) drinking in the living room. With Caleb’s birthday just a few days away, his mother is terrified her son will find it impossible to resist the lure of the Power like his father before him. Caleb assures her he’ll be able to handle his new abilities.
